Mediation Coordinator


Quabbin Mediation, a non-profit community center, is seeking a mediation coordinator.  Duties include: respond to mediation inquiries; case coordination; supervise court programs, mediation staff, and volunteers; grant applications, administration, record-keeping, data entry and reporting.  Skills required:  Conflict resolution, communication, administrative, and computer proficiency; understanding of multiculturalism and social justice. Minimum Requirements:  Must be a trained mediator with at least one year of experience; Bachelor’s degree; reliable transportation.  Position is 15 to 18 hours per week, includes some benefits.

Local Building Inspector

Management Assistant-Inspections
Town of Amherst seeks a Management Assistant to perform customer service, data entry and administrative support duties associated with the Residential Rental Property Bylaw established by Town Meeting. The position will receive and answers inquiries and requests for information from the general public and other departments; Research and track permits, files and records for information, maintain department records and permits and administer the Rental Permitting program. High School diploma with two years of related office experience; working knowledge of computers and data entry, permit record keeping, some knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to effectively meet and deal with the public; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.  Salary range $1,229.12- $1,951.85 bi weekly plus benefits. DPW Wastewater Crew Supervisor II/Operator
The Amherst Public Works Department seeks a Crew Supervisor and Operator to perform skilled and technical work in the operation, maintenance, and process control of the wastewater treatment facility, pump stations and collection system.  This position operates all equipment, records data, prepares reports; and performs adjustments to optimize sludge processing equipment and chemical feed systems.  Also provides daily supervision of assigned crew members and acts as a liaison between crew members and Division Supervisor. Must interact with instrumentation and SCADA systems at the Wastewater Treatment Plant including adjusting set points, operating, and basic troubleshooting. Develops schedule for and performs preventative maintenance on equipment and collection system.  Facilitates and /or assists with repairs as necessary.   Organizes and implements treatment and sewer flushing programs including keeping records with computer databases.
Requires MA CDL Class B with tanker and airbrake endorsements; Hydraulic License with front end loader and backhoe endorsements; and Commonwealth of Massachusetts Grade 7 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators License; or as established by Section 257 Code of Massachusetts Regulations.
