"BHM PROJECT" for February, Black History Month

This year, the Human Rights Commission of Amherst in conjunction with Amherst Leisure Services and Amherst Chamber of Commerce is excited to launch The BHM Project for Black History Month! The BHM Project takes Amherst to another level utilizing the creative energy of art and the power of community to transform our world!

The BHM Project is a community event, calling on area artists to volunteer their time and talent on Saturday, February 16 from 9am to 2pm, to paint participating merchant windows with themes relevant to Black history. Artists will have the opportunity for significant exposure of their work, while participating in this unique, historical and highly publicized event!

The BHM Project is also looking for spoken word artists for The BHM Project Unplugged, a televised community wide spoken word event, taking place on Thursday evening, February 21st at Town Hall.

See our "EVENTS" link above to get more information and to contact event coordinators!

Looking forward to February!
